"Run for the Roses"

fundraising event

And They're Off!

The Good Hope Equestrian & Regenerative Farm, Inc., located in Halifax County, hosted its first annual Kentucky Derby “Run for the Roses” fundraising event on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at The Halifax Country Club from 3:30 to 8:00pm.  Many joined us for a fun-filled day of playing the horses while watching the exciting days races and the Kentucky Derby their your favorite Derby outfit. The event included contests, prizes, music, dancing and much more!  All guests enjoyed the tastes and sounds of the Kentucky Derby with classic southern fare.

Admission per person

All funds raised through this event directly supported the onsite programs including scholarships for Endless Strides Equine Assisted lessons for children and youth in need of therapeutic services as well as Healthy Habits, which provides local organically-grown produce to low-income families in our community.

We glad you joined us for what is considered the “most exciting two minutes in sports!”  The main race is estimated to have started around 6:00pm, but the fun began much earlier!

2023 Run for the Roses Sponsors

SPONSORSHIP SUPPORT

On Saturday, May 6, 2023, in celebration of the 149th Kentucky Derby, Good Hope Equestrian & Regenerative Farm, Inc. (GHERF) planned its first annual Run for the Roses fundraising party at the Halifax Country Club. In order to make this celebration and philanthropic event a success, we received many corporate event sponsor support.  Their altruistic donations were recognized at the event and 100% of the event’s proceeds raised are being used to benefit two of GHERF’s organization’s flagship programs: Endless Strides & Healthy Habits.

The mission of Good Hope Equestrian & Regenerative Farm, Inc. (GHERF) is to provide quality equine-assisted and regenerative farming practices to children, youth, and adults with and without disabilities to enhance their independence, personal potential, and quality of life. Using the horse as its tool and its 270-acre facility as its classroom, GHERF is committed to developing quality equine and regenerative farming program services to meet the educational, vocational, recreational, and rehabilitative needs of the community. The goal of each program is to build upon the unique gifts of each individual, enabling them to successfully improve their body, mind, and spirit through the healing powers of the horse, organic food distribution, and the knowledge of healthy living through regenerative farming practices.

We hope we can count on your support again next year to make this exciting Kentucky Derby celebration a yearly success!  Please feel free to contact me at (305) 297-4729 if you have any questions relating to our organization or any of our special events.
